Fireworks

One of my favorite things is fireworks. I remember we would all get loaded up in the car and head down to St. Joe, park in Dad's spot at the Sheriff's Department and then plop down on the bluff and watch them over the lake. My mom and dad always made a honking noise whenever there was a firework they liked telling us that's what they did when they were younger and would watch them from their cars. I always thought it was embarrassing but now I always hear the honking in my head when I liked a firework and it makes me smile.

This 4th of July I really wanted to see fireworks and the closest ones were in Dexter at a huge metropark. It was hot and I knew Ed wasn't as excited as I was but he never complained, even when I asked to leave 2 hours early just so we could find a seat. I packed a picnic dinner and we got there in plenty of time to see the fireworks. The downside was sitting in the parking lot for 2 hours afterwards just to get out of the park but once again, no complaining from Ed. He obviously could tell how much I wanted to see these and how much it meant to me. Enjoy some pictures!

Ed was very tired and this is how he spent the 2 hours waiting for the show to start.

Baby Viking was enjoying the fireworks too!

Waiting in the parking lot for two hours but I was happy to have seen the fireworks!
