Tell me one cute thing baby girl did today...

One tradition Ed and I started in our family was every night as we lay in bed, I ask Ed to tell me one cute thing baby girl did today. Rarely do we miss a night.  Here are a few of the recent ones:

In our old rental house, EV's room is completely cleared out. While I was packing up stuff in the kitchen, Ed was entertaining her. He sat in the middle of the room and EV was running circles around him. Eventually he started following her with his head which prompted her to keep looking at him while she ran.  Well, one time she didn't quite turn and SMACK...she ran right into the wall.

When Ed gives me a hug and a kiss, EV is not too far behind asking to be put in the middle. We pick her up and do a couple rounds of "kiss the baby" in a sing songy voice while we both give her a kiss.  Now, she puts her arms around us and makes us kiss, then kiss her, then us again, then her...on and on and on. She will also make us hug each other when we're sitting on the couch.  She understands when we show each other love.

On one of our recent walks, I gave EV her new big sunglasses.  They look like glasses "tenders" would wear (that's Ed's word for girls who wear shorts that say "Juicy" on their butts). Anyways, on our walk, she was wearing her glasses and when it was shady she slid them to the top of her head like Mama does. Then, in the sun, she slid them down. I am in awe of how much of a person she is becoming.

Another want to be like Mama moment was when I was unpacking the bins for our pantry.  EV grabbed an empty bin, put random items in it, then unpacked it onto the couch just like I was doing.

Two nights ago, we had European sandwiches for dinner. That's not the technical name for them, they are just the type of sandwiches I had when I was in Europe. Basically, we baked Italian bread, drizzles some olive oil on the cut up pieces, toasted them, melted mozzarella and put pesto on it, then ate it with Roma tomatoes.  We had one extra tomato on the counter and EV grabbed it down, threw away the plastic bag it was in, walked over to Ed and he asked her what she planned to do with the tomato.  She looked at him and took a big bite. She then proceeded to eat the tomato like an apple AND had 8 grape tomatoes afterwards!  They were on the counter and she grabbed for them but when we put them on her tray she wasn't interested. Yet, she took the plate, brought them over to the couch where we were sitting, rested it on me then ate one by one as we watched a movie.
