Incredible

Since baby girl has *mastered* crawling she has moved onto pulling herself up...on everything.  First it was in her crib and she would cry because she didn't know how to get down.  Then it was Mommy Mountain, the couch, the coffee table, and her high chair.  At the library today she didn't pull herself up on the chair (it was higher than her little arms could reach seated) but when I put her standing on it she shimmied down a few steps to me.  We left the library with me holding onto her two hands and she WALKED out of the kids area.  I was still holding onto her but seriously, 7 months.  I am so proud of my little peanut.

We're still lagging behind on the vocals however.  She'll grunt and still do baby lasers from time to time but really she just smiles and observes everything around her.  She also doesn't answer to her name but I take complete responsibility to that.  When you're called EV, peanut, peach pit, pumpkin butt, baby girl, EVkins, Munkin butt...you're never going to know that your name is EVELYN!  I've tried sticking with EV (for a grand total of 1 day) but we'll see.  I really like calling her random names but maybe that will have to wait until she actually knows her name.  We also keep trying to make the ba-ba-ba, mamama, dadada noises for her but she just laughs.  We get a range of noises, just nothing that sounds remotely close to a word.  If she wasn't so awesome with the moving around and such a happy little one then I would be worried.  Until then, we have the strong silent type of baby.
