In addition to this cute present, he asked to do a workout video when I got home from work. Not sure if this was related to Valentine's Day or not, but I was game. I worked out this morning but I was up for another one.
I've been very conscious lately about EV looking to us to set a good example. I see her mimicking our behaviors and I want to make sure they are ones I want to pass down! I originally wanted to do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred but the dvd wasn't in the case...bummer. So we chose Biggest Loser Yoga instead:
Now, remember this was supposed to be a yoga workout but I'm sure a passerby would have thought we threw our backs out and were in extreme pain. Lots of grunting and non graceful moves (they make it look so easy), but we made it through. There was definitely some cheating (my arms came down numerous times and I used the easy modifications) but the best, absolute BEST part of the whole process...watching EV.
She got down on the floor and did some of the positions with us and even jumped on our backs during the push ups. During the cool down, where we are sitting like Bob is sitting in the picture above, EV came and sat on both of our laps, she gave us hugs during some triangle pose and even copied downward dog which then meant we had to stop and help her do a somersault.
I loved we were setting a good example for her. She is seeing working out as an enjoyable activity you can do together as a family. I'm pretty sure we will do this again.
