We had a wonderful Easter holiday. I got up early to get myself ready for the 8 am service just in case the rest of my family decided to wake up as well. Nope. Instead I went to the store and bought flowers for my Aunt, Grandma and Mom who were coming in for the game as well as to celebrate Easter. We instead went to the 9:30 and even though I thought we were doing great on time I knew what we would find when we got to church: no seats. We sat downstairs where they had audio and visual set up but having Easter service in cornered off section of the church basement just isn't the same. EV agreed (I'm considering starting to call her E, no real reason though). Anyways, she was fine for most of the service but it was really hot and she didn't get her own seat like she would have upstairs. I carried her upstairs for a while where it was cooler and there was a viewing area without chairs. We left before it ended (I insisted on staying until after offering so it didn't look like we were the church equivalent of dine and dash). Like I mentioned earlier my family came, including Aunt, Uncle, two cousins, Grandma, and my mom and dad, and of course Ed and EV. I got them the suite tickets where I had their flowers and cards waiting for them already.
Brief interlude about the game: it was conflicting but it ended on a great note. Alycia Ryan, one of my favorite kids and always has been, got the game winning hit. Marley Powers who has taken a back seat to Alycia in the last few weeks hit in the run that tied the game with a sac fly. And Hilary Payne pitched some innings and only gave up 1 hit. It was exciting in the last inning (unfortunately that was the only exciting inning for us).
Back to Evelyn's Easter: After the game we all went out to dinner at Paesano's on Washtenaw just like we did 2 years ago when we celebrated Easter. Ed and I were remembering that back then we didn't have EV, we weren't married, and we weren't even engaged. Wonderful how much changes in 2 years. EV stayed in her Easter dress all day and was exhausted by the end. We have a wonderful little girl. I had so much to be thankful for on Easter. There was a whole new meaning to Easter. I understood that not only did Christ die and rise for me but He did the same for Evelyn.
