Are you still there? All 2 of you???

Let's skip past the "I haven't written in a long time and I promise to be better in the future" paragraph because honestly, I haven't written in a long time and I do NOT promise to be better.  Life is busy folks and I am busy living it :)

Season is in full swing: full high stress, no rest, constant ups and downs, wins and losses (unfortunately more losses than wins...boo).  It is extremely tiresome.  And that's not even the job part!  I was on a bus yesterday from 4pm until 2am...oh penn state, why do you have to exist in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, PA???

Do you know how to sleep on a smelly, hot bus comfortably?  Trick question, it's impossible.

EV is growing, physically, mentally, and attitude-ly :)  She's 19 months and goes for her 18 month appointment on Wednesday.  Yes, I realize we are on schedule a month late but that was the cost of moving and finding a new doctor, no one had space available.  Luckily we like our guy now and we don't have to wait an hour just to see him.

She is a fearless little tank.  I am betting her weight is still low but her height will still be on track.  My baby seriously has guns.  Her arms are ripped and now we even ask her to "show us your guns" and she flexes.  No, she is not a dainty girl.  She's more the "did you just say that to my friend? Let me introduce you to my fist".  Ok, maybe not that intense.

No real talking yet but we do have a list: all done, thank you, hi, uh-oh, oh wow, ow, hot, again, yes.  Her animal sounds are more impressive.  Most children know barnyard sounds.  Not my baby, not when she spends most of the day with her father.  She instead knows: dog, cat, elephant, monkey, giraffe and camel.  Giraffe and camel you say?  What do those noises sound like?  Well, the giraffe is mainly her tongue moving around and going "blah ah la ah la ah la" like she's eating leaves off a tree and a camel, she spits.  It's bizarre but most of these animals are in one of her favorite books.  She also knows fishy (kissy faces) and lion but she prefers to run and hide when I turn to the lion page.

She hasn't met a food she doesn't like.  Salsa is her current favorite and Mandarin oranges are also high on the list.  Oh and Oreos, she loves them.  We give our 1.5 year old an Oreo from time to time.

Favorite activities: periodically sleeping by the door at night, reading anything and everything, sitting on the couch pulling up the blanket and reading whatever book I have sitting on the table, singing (we are able to recognize the tunes - favorites: abcs, Jesus loves me, Indiana fight song), sledding - with no snow, we pull her around the yard, riding her bike - she has a helmet, it has training wheels and really I just push her but every now and then she does it herself, being around her daddy all day every day, playing with her uncle Billy.  She is incredibly active and I love that.  She makes me want to be more active - trust me, I could use all the motivation I can get!

That's the EV update. She's an amazing baby.

  1. Yay - love the update. Haha no worries. We give Lucy sweets and whatever we are eating from time to time too. Seems weird not to (to me) :)
