Ed, EV and I have semi-successfully moved in to our new place! I say semi-successfully because Ed deems a move successful if no one bleeds...he cut his thumb yesterday on a cardboard box. Oh well, we're in it, only took a few days, EV is happy, Mommy is happy. That is successful. I will post pictures once I take some but it is the bottom half of a duplex, no garage, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. Not a lot of space but a budget place so we can save for a down payment on a house next year. I love EV having her own room. We shut all the doors, gate off the kitchen and she crawls up and down the hall from the living room to her bedroom and back...and again...and again. She will bring random toys from either room which is super cute. There aren't any curtains yet so her room is pretty bright still but the champ has been sleeping...well, like a champ! She has gotten used to all the different people she's met, LOVES my bosses kids and they love her back equally. EV shows her love by clapping and yelling, they show theirs by getting 2 inches, no 1 inch actually, close to her and fighting over who gets to "play" with her. It's adorable and EV is great with the chaos. However, there is a direct correlation between our visits there and her amount of yelling at home immediately afterwards.
Moving in means not having a lot set up already. No TV, no internet*, no dryer (we do own a washer), and NO CELL PHONE SERVICE! We're in the country but Sprint is sending me a device that should boost our near nonexistent service. Then there are the endless trips to the hardware store, bed/bath/random store, grocery store, etc., because you forgot something, then forgot the additional item needed to make item 1 work properly. Case in point: forgot the shower curtain back in Ann Arbor. Got one at the store, came home, realized I forgot the shower curtain rings too. Our new TV arrived today, didn't have a phillips head screwdriver to install the base. I bought 4 different sizes/types just so we're covered. Although these little things are annoying, I'm smiling because they mean a move, a growth, a step in our lives.
*No internet huh, but I'm posting this from my computer, in my house. Well, the people upstairs used their internet's nickname as their password. I'm "borrowing" their network. :)
I'll work hard on a dryer when i get back. I need pictures of that baby.
